Retreat FAQ

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

We are not able to offer any refunds, but your ticket is fully transferable to another attendee if you are not able to attend. Follow the link on the confirmation page or in your confirmation email to create an account and log in to change the information over to the new attendee.

Can I register for one day of Retreat instead of the whole event?

Your registration is for the entire event, but please feel free to come to whichever portions you are able. If you would like to come to a one-day event in Atlanta, please provide your contact information by clicking this LINK. We’d be happy to give you information about upcoming 2–7-hour events.

What if we haven’t adopted/fostered yet?

You are welcome to attend! However, Retreat is not a recruiting event. It will be two days of honest, deep, and renewing conversations and community surrounding kinship care, foster care, and adoption.

Can I bring my baby?

This is a child-free event. As much as we love kids (and we really love kids), we are trying to create an environment where parents and caregivers are able to relax, unwind, and be refreshed. So we kindly request no children of any age and no exceptions. Our participants thank you!

Are there training credits and professional CEU’s available?

This event offers 14 hours of continuing education (CE) credits. Professional CEU’s will not be offered at this event.

If I can’t attend the whole event, can I get credit for what I do attend?

This event is designed for you to take a break and, if you need them, get some CE’s in the process. If you can’t attend the entire event, please provide your contact information by clicking this LINK. We’d be happy to share information about upcoming 2–7-hour events in the Atlanta area.

Where should I stay?

Please check out our website, which has a link to the hotel directly adjacent to Buckhead Church. We’ve blocked rooms at favorable rates. Given the convenience of this location, there’s no need to go anywhere else while you are at Retreat.

There are many other hotels in the area that you can book directly.

Are we required to stay in a hotel?

No. But we encourage everyone to stay the night on Friday and even Saturday to enhance your experience. The purpose of Retreat is for you to take a break and be refreshed.

Will we have any free time?

Check out the Retreat schedule on our website. We want everyone to feel renewed, and we’ve built in some breaks. We’ve also created spaces for those that would like some downtime. Even the breakouts will include things that are refreshing and fun.

What restaurants are nearby?

If you’re looking for a place to eat before or after Retreat, Trip Advisor will be your best bet for finding restaurants. There are hundreds of places within a short walk or ride from Buckhead Church.

Lunch will be provided on both Friday and Saturday. Dinner will be provided on Friday night.

I’m not from Atlanta. How does MARTA work?

For those who are arriving via Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, you will find MARTA the best option for ground transportation. It runs from the airport to Buckhead Station on the Red Line. From Buckhead Station, it’s a 4-minute walk to the front door of Buckhead Church.

For those who are from Atlanta, we strongly encourage you to use MARTA as well. Once you arrive at Buckhead Church, you will not need your car for the retreat.

Where/when can I see the breakout schedule and sign up for my breakouts?

The breakout sessions will be finalized around March 1. There will be many options, and they will be great! If you register before breakouts are finalized, you’ll receive an email that enables you to register for your breakouts before Retreat begins. On-site registration for breakouts will be possible, but some will already be full. So register in advance if possible!

What if I change my mind regarding which breakouts I would like to attend?

You will be able to change them on-site, but it will be on a space-available basis.

I want to stay and visit Buckhead Church on Sunday. What times are Sunday services?

We would love for you to worship at Buckhead Church on Sunday. Here is a LINK to the service times.
